The Motorola A768 announced in 2003 Q1, and released 2004 Q3 in its essence is an Asian version of the Motorola A760 with extended support for Cinese language and handwriting recognition. The Motorola A768 is a Tri-band GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz mobile phone supporting GPRS Class 10 (3+2, 4+1), with data speed 32 - 48 kbps data transfer. It also features SMS, EMS, MMS mobile messaging and supports T9 predictive text input as well as Instant Messaging functionality. The Motorola A768 provides internet connectivity with e-mail support, WAP v. 2.0 browser and xHTML browser. PC connectivity of the device is supported with RS232 and USB cable connection, Infrared (IrDa) and Bluetooth™ wireless connection.

The phone itself is relatively large (but this is normal for a SmartPhone), measuring 100 x 53 x 21 mm (100 cc) (weight 120 g) and available in Black casing called Midnight Platinum by Motorola. The handset also provides touchscreen, handwriting and speech recognition. input. With a standard Li-Ion 750 mAh battery the Motorola A768 ensures up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 180 hours of standby time.

As a Smartphone the Motorola A768 features the advanced Linux OS and comes with Java™ MIDP support and large 96 Mb of internal shared memory for storage, applications and games also providing 58 MB user accessible memory in phone memory.

Picture management is enhanced with Picture editor, Picture Album, functionality. The camera can also take video clips (Video: 176x144 pixel, 5 minutes continuous capturing).

The Motorola A768 also features Autodial, Voice Dial, Voice Commands, Loudspeaker Handsfree, in-phone Vibration, call functionality. The A768 supports polyphonic 40 chords (voice) ringtones and has a built-in ringtone editor, Truetones support, MIDI and MP3 format ringtone support. Multimedia functionality of the Motorola A768 includes Multimedia Player (audio and video), MP3 audio. On the Mobile Fun side it also features downloadable Wallpaper, Screensaver, Animated Pictures, Themes, preload 3-in-1 Themes (wallpapers, screensavers, ringtones), User-Interface Theme creation (wallpaper, ringtone, font size, font colour, etc.).
