The Philips 530 mobile phone is a compact, lightweight and stylish phone that offers consumers a rich, exciting mobile experience of sound and imaging, wherever they are.

Thanks to the new BeDJ™ creation function built into the phone, consumers can create their own personal sounds on the Philips 530, real time mixing up to nine music tracks and natural sounds that can be stored either as ring tones or SMS alerts. The advanced audio reproduction enables song samples to be played as ring tones. Philips 530 is the only phone that can play natural sounds, like a cow mooing. With the easy-to-use graphical interface, users can change the tempo or instrument for each polyphonic track, or even download new BeDJ styles in order to create more innovative mixes.

To add to the variety of sounds, the Philips 530 enables users to enjoy FM radio on the move with a hifi stereo headset and share it with others via the hands free mode. They can record from the built-in FM radio, as well as record their own voices or ambient sounds. Using the phone’s MMS function - which also enables advanced text and image messaging - or via Infrared, they can share their music creations with their friends. The MMS key provides quick and direct access for creating and sharing up to 100KB, or 99 pages of sounds, music and images. One can create and send MMS messages complete with pictures, text and audio in just 12 easy steps. Java 2.0 enables the download of personal applications such as graphic applications, information tools, and interactive games.

The new Philips 530 allows consumers to create their personalized identity. When the phone rings, whenever a melody is played or while the user is playing the built-in and downloadable colour games, the phone’s vibra and light effects allow the sound to be felt and “seen”, adding an extra dimension to the music and gaming experience. The unique hands free speaker design creates even better sound effects. And the large, high-brightness 128 x 128 pixel TFT panel with 65,000 colours gives a great display for even more enjoyable gaming and photo viewing!

The Philips 530 also features a rotating camera as an accessory. This allows pictures to be taken during the day but also during the night or in low light conditions thanks to the ‘Night Mode’ function. Photos can be sent and shared with friends using MMS or the infrared interface, or they can be stored thanks to the phone’s dynamic memory allocation. Photos can also be enjoyed using the FotoCall feature. This illustrates the phonebook to allow identification of callers or caller categories, so that when the phone rings the corresponding photo appears on the colour display.
