Samsung SGH-E710 is a dual band cameraphone with a clamshell design of body. The mobile phone has a range of useful features, including support for GPRS and WAP technology, MMS multimedia messaging capability, video recorder, playback of downloaded video clips, Java enabled, voice memo recorder, active flip, and a choice of polyphonic ringtones.

This phone has dual colour displays, including a TFT type internal LCD screen with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, and a capability to reproduce up to 65,536 different colours. The phone's main screen also handles all of the menu selections, picture and video viewing, and game playing. The phone's smaller external screen is used for displaying time and date, as well as to give an indication of who is calling.

The Samsung E710 has an integrated VGA quality digital camera with a zoom facility. There are four picture sizes available to users: VGA (640 x 480 pixels), QVGA (320 x 240 pixels), QQVGA (160 x 120 pixels) or Mobile (128 x 120 pixels). The pictures you take can be modified with some special effects, and to help with photography in poor light conditions a built-in flashlight is also provided.

Being MMS capable, this phone can send and receive messages that combine video clips, pictures, animations, sounds, and text. You can send your friends any pictures or sounds that you capture with the phone's camera and digital sound recorder. Having a video recorder and playback facility makes this phone very useful when you need to capture special events, and MMS enables you to share these experiences with your contacts. The other useful feature is to be able to download video clips, which means you can watch any news, sports, music or movie trailer clips that are available.

The Samsung E710 is Java enabled, which offers you the opportunity to run any compatible Java games or applications on the phone. Four games come preloaded, although you can easily download more games or other applications when you want to add some new options in the phone. Similarly, there is the possibility to download new wallpapers, screensavers, pictures, sounds and ringtones, when you feel the need to personalise the phone.

Another essential feature is the integrated GPRS and WAP technology, which provides for an “always on” connection and fast data transfer for use in accessing the mobile Internet. With its Nokia browser you are able to search for the services and information that interest you, and to access news, sports, traffic, weather, and stock markets, for example.

The Samsung E710 gives you a choice of wireless or wired connectivity options. The phone can connect to compatible PCs, PDAs and other devices via its infrared port, and there is the alternative of using a data cable connection. After connecting to a computer or other device, you are then able to synchronise your personal schedule and other information, or you can exchange files such as video, pictures or sounds.
