Samsung SGH P400

Samsung SGH-P400 is a tri-band cameraphone for global roaming, and it has the usual Samsung style of clamshell body. The mobile phone has several features that will attract buyers to this model: it supports GPRS and WAP technology, has MMS multimedia messaging capability, Java enabled for running games and applications programs, and offers a wide range of good polyphonic ringtones.

The display is a TFD type of LCD screen, with a larger than usual resolution of 128 x 160 pixels; the screen also reproduces up to 65,536 different colours. This display can be swivelled through 180 degrees, which, when using it as a viewfinder to take pictures with the integrated camera, will make it easier to see what you are looking at.

The SGH-P400 has an integrated camera fitted into the phone's hinge section, and this also has the unusual feature of being able to rotate through 180 degrees. With its 2x digital zoom and contrast adjustment, this camera makes it possible to take all the photos you need when out and about, and you can then add these pictures to your MMS messages for sending off to friends.

Five games are embedded in the phone, and there is the possibility to download more Java games and application programs to further enhance the usefulness of this handset. Other downloads may be used to personalise the phone, for example you can find new wallpapers, screensavers, ringtones, etc, to customise the phone to match your own tastes, so that it looks and sounds just the way you like it to.

The Samsung SGH-P400 has the “always on” facility of GPRS, so that access to the mobile Internet is faster and easier via the WAP browser. With this phone's data handling capabilities, you can access the many useful Web-based services and information sources now available to a WAP enabled phone.

The infrared connection allows you to set up a communication link with any compatible PC, PDA or other data device, and to then synchronise your personal data and files, or download pictures to or from the phone.
